THE LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING DUMB-ASSESS!!!!!!!!!!

I promise this will be the only time I gripe about all the complete idiot drivers..Actually, I can't promise, but I will do my best to keep the comments to a minimum.  I've driven less than 300 miles, and only encountered about 40 ass wipes driving in the left lane.  Why is it so difficult for people to understand the LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING!  As my good friend Papa Muchacho always tells me, "you can't fix stupid".

I'm sitting at Twin Bridges State Park, about 9 miles from Miami.  Although the area received almost 10 inches of snow on Saturday, little remains.  Arrived about 5:20, had the tent up in less than 20 minutes thank you very little, and made a quick trip into Miami for beer.  mmmmmm, beer.
Set up the stove, grilling some Eye-talian sausages, and snacking, (or is that having SNACK) on nuts.

I left Washington about 11:00am.  First stop was Lebanon.  REJECTION on the cards at my very first stop.  A comment was made that it seemed like I enhanced the colors on the images.  She didn't like it.  Hmmm, I thought....only about every other person who has seen the cards LOVES the colors.  No problem, headed west and stopped by Britt's Cafe.  This business just opened 10 days ago.  It is occupying the former Wrinks Market.  Met with Britt briefly, he liked the cards, and told me to come back.  I said I will.  Took a couple shots of his establishment, headed West through Lebanon, towards Califoria!!

Next stop was Gary at the Gay Parita Station!!  SUCCESS!!  Gary, obviously a very smart guy, Loved the cards.  Well, not exactly.  He wanted a card of his station.  No problemo!!  I took several images of his place, and will be sending them to him soon!!

As it was nearing 3:00pm, I needed to get to Oklahoma, as I needed to set up camp.  Drove mostly on 44, but as I approached the border, I drove North into Baxter Springs.  Perhaps many of you will recognize this photo.....Strange thing, it is not a Soda Fountain.....But a learning center for the students of Baxter Springs and the surrounding area.  The official name is the Bill Abernathy Memorial Learning Center.  Completely cool place.  Loaded with Macs, wireless, etc.....Very impressive.

And the most impressive thing of all?  The money for the place was donated by an attorey.  Yes, you read that correctly!!  An Attorney.  I suppose they are a couple decent ones in the world!!

Tommorow I will head back into Baxter Springs, do a little shooting, and head to Afton to visit with Laurel at the  2009 Route 66 business of the year Afton Station.  Laurel has become a great supporter of my work, and I look forward to the visit immensly!!

Smells like the sausages are almost ready for devouring...Temperature should drop into the high 30's tonight.  Sure hopes the heater I purchased last night works!!

All in all a great day.

It is now about 11:30. That's in the p.m.   I've discovered why this park is called Twin Bridges.  It really should be called Twin Loud Bridges.  I'm not sure, but it sounds as if the bridges are constructed from plywood.  Annoying loud.  After about an hour in the tent, no where close to falling asleep, I"m back at the concrete slab table, back bloggin' away!!  Of course, I only consumed 2.5 of the sausages, so the stove is on, sausages re-sizzlin, and away I type.

Shortly after I closed out the last installment of the day, I decided to venture out to the local Casino.  'Twas only about 8 miles from the Loud Twin Bridges, so I decided to check out some Native American Culture.  As I approached the not so exciting lights, I chuckled quite loudly.  The name of the place was "High Winds".  Many years ago, this guy from St. Louis, while on a float trip, told me of his harrowing experience while navigating the Meramec River.  "A tornado rolled through".  A tornado?  I didn't hear any sirens.  Heard no mentions of a tornado from the media.  I was a little cornfused and more than a little skeptical. Being the trusting self I am,  I needed to inquire furthur.   After countless questions, he finally succumbed to describing the event as "high winds".  Thus, the source of my chuckle!!

Speaking of chuckles, how many remember the candy called "chuckles"? Or was it singular?   If I remember correctly, and I usually do, it conisted of 5 soft kind of gummy like gel squares.  Colors were Red, Green, Yellow, Black, and Orange.   Anyone, Anyone??  Of course, if I had internet access, I could have cheated and looked up the proper color distribution of the soft candies. But I'm not going to stoop to those low levels....Not me, no way!!

As I sit here being warmed by the propane heater, chowing down on my dead pig heated by propane, and my light being provided by my propane lantern, I can only think Hank Hill must be mighty proud.  Propane, and propane accesories.  If only Arlen TX was real, and on Route 66.  For about a millesecond I pondered typing the gay line, "It doesn't get any better than this".  O yes, it does. It can be a lot better. A few vacations in Mexico come to mind!!   Not that this is bad by any means.  And this is better than quite a lot....But that term really is quite absurd.  Reminds me of so many fascinating facebook postings.

Speaking of facebook, 6 days ago I composed my facebook diatribe.  Supringsly, I've had few comments.  Of the few I've received, most were positive.  One comment said if you hate facebook so much, why are you on it?  Great question.....It's not that I hate facebook, It the comments and constant drivel that people post.  That is what is so annoying.  Please people of the facebook world, don't have conversations with your spouses in a public forum.  Do you really think we want to know it's been a long time since date night?  And then the reply, "Can't wait to get home, wink wink"....UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  SHUT THE $@@^%@%&& UP!!!

Well, four sausages down, one to go.  Gotta love that Dr. Atkins.  Only 5 grams of carbs, and 150 grams of fat.  150 isn't that big of a number is it?  It is about the same number of times Mark McGqwire said he never took steroids, and the same number of times Tony said he had no idea.  DISGRACE!!!  Oh, wait, St. Louis is the best baseball city in America.  It's ok.  Wake up and smell the bullshit people!!  It's sometimes hard to admit the truth.  Boycott the Bastards.  Have some integrity.  I'm really enjoying this Blogging!!!  I wonder if Tony is partying much this spring break?? "I only had two glasses of wine with dinner".  Sure ya did Tony Toni Tone!!  But of course  we should believe him.  He's an attorney.  They are all upstanding folks!!  I think Bill Maher once said, the two biggest things ruining America.....Attorney's and high fructose corn syrup!!  AMEN halleluiah!!  Where is the Reverend Claude Smoot these days?

I guess it is pointless to say goodnight, goodbye, because I'll be back.  I promise.  So many subjects, so many opinions.  I thank my lucky stars that Al Gore provided all this for us!!  Big Al....You rule!!  Hope your still spinning the Tipper!!

0:21 Hours.  Copy that.

I'm having difficulties posting pics in the proper order. Oh well, can't beat the cost of this free entertainment!!
